Join us at Calm Connect, our annual conference, on 12 October 2017 from 1.45pm at Regent’s University, Regent’s Park, for networking, inspirational guest speakers and workshops providing a range of perspectives on mediation and restorative justice (RJ). The conference will be followed by a drinks reception at 5.00pm.
Guest speakers include:
- young mediators from Bacon’s College sixth form in Rotherhithe on how they are helping their secondary school peers to resolve issues such as friendship breakdown and bullying;
- staff and resident from Catalyst Housing on how mediation is being used to address conflict between neighbours in social housing;
- Lawrence Kershen QC on why mediation is a constructive choice for dispute resolution;
- Ben Lyon, restorative practitioner on the impact of RJ on people affected by crime.
There will also be workshops on workplace and community mediation, providing an insight into the types of issues that can be addressed through these processes, and the benefits to participants and organisations.
As well as mediation and RJ practitioners, Calm Connect welcomes anyone interested in restorative approaches, including those working in education, criminal justice, community safety, housing, HR, etc.
